 Happy New Year to all!!!

2008 was a tough year for me and I am very much looking forward to 2009.

I am looking with an open mind and an open heart. Knowing that I will be okay no matter what.

Which is easier said than done!!!

I want to make my New Year’s goals, dig deep inside and discover what I would like to have happen in my life in 2009.

Where I want my career to head, my health, love and friendship. By setting my goals and writing them down I can look upon them and keep working to achieve them.

Many things happened last year that were out of my control and left me feeling upside down and turned inside out. And I realize that many more will happen in the year to come. Some things pleasant some painful. But I know I will grow! As I have grown every year with each thing that has presented itself to me and left me no choice but to deal with it. Each change, loss and discomfort I see now has taught me something. I may not understand it while I am smack dab in the middle of it but later I see how I have learned and really grown.

I have so much to be grateful for! And I need to remind myself at times of these beautiful things. Sometimes everyday! It depends on how life is going and what I am dealing with. I know if I am truly doing all that I can do at that time then I have done my part. And I need to accept that and accept the things that I cannot change and that I have no control over.

This year I will take care of myself the best way I know how and I will treat myself with love, kindness and understanding. I will give and put the energy out in the world that I would like to have back. Treating others the way that I would want to be treated.

Happy New Year to me, my family and all of you and those you love,

This year can and will be all that we invest in it, keep the faith, and believe it to be so.

WHEW! So much love!

Beach House in Akumel

Wow! The Yucatan is breathtaking. I went to visit my dad for a week, which was too short by the way, and got spoiled rotten!!! Yummy Yummy I ate soooooooo much delicious food prepared by an amazing chef who happens to be one of the sweetest ladies I have ever met! Ms LuLu! She takes care of my mom and dad and one of the ways she does this is by preparing the freshest and healthiest meals ever! She even made “little ol’ fire eater me” fresh green Habanero chili sauce!   But I must back up for a second… I arrived at the airport in Cancun and there were my beautiful folks were waiting for me. We took a drive to a beach house in Akumel and there we had dinner and stayed the night. The next morning we all took a walk along the beach taking in the sun and sea air while collecting shells. Coffee, breakfast then off to to Merida! The drive was a tad bit tedious in some spots due to the constant stop and go over the next four hours which was caused by the runners and bicyclist moving  their bodies for the celebration of Guadalupe. The proud mexican people dressed up wearing portraits of Guadalupe and running with torches followed by a truck full of others waiting their turn to run. And naturally the vehicles drove the pace of the runner or bicycle as loud music played and cheers from the truck reveled. More on my trip later XOXO, Rebekka
